We are Politically Aweh
Join comedian KG Mokgadi and the Politically Aweh team every week as we make sense of South African and international news and politics.
The news, but
spicier

From Cape Town to Jozi, to Africa and beyond, Politically Aweh is a current affairs news show with a uniquely South African flavour. Take your chicken with some Peri-Peri, as we're serving it hot.

We're here to break down complex issues and rebel against the status quo... and boring content.

Inspired by chaos

Aweh! We’ve been busy—even through load shedding—creating content that exposes the chaos in the current state of affairs.

Each week, comedian KG Mokgadi and the team dissect political, cultural, and social issues. Our on-location reports, interviews, and satirical sketches bring a fresh perspective. You’re getting the real deal; our uniquely “aweh-some” content has won multiple awards, including a South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) for Best Online Content.

Behind the scenes, we’re a dynamic team of media professionals, presenters, writers, and researchers hoping to disrupt the way South Africans consume news. It’s 2024, and we’re moving with the times to bring you fresh content that informs through humour and fact-checked truths.

The tea on our
history

The organisation started life as a YouTube channel created by Stephen Horn with help from some friends in 2017. Five years, 40+ videos, 1 million+ views, and a South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA) later, the team incorporated a non-profit company in the name of the show.
